iNsTrUmEnTaLiTiEs 3: Tenements explores the hidden underside of extravagance. It is an attempt to encapsulate the emotions felt by those at the bottom of the societal hierarchy. There has to be something more than mindless labor and faraway dreams of ascension.

Another day comes,
And this pressure grows stronger.
Something must soon break.

Great systems of gears,
Whirling around this fixed point.
This is everything.

Manifest in stone,
Reverberations of time.
They fool all of us.

The strings suspend it,
And someone pulls them with glee.
They can’t be unseen.

Cheap earphones free me,
To where my mind rules this world.
And I write the stars.

Filled with gratitude,
But my appetite remains.
I keep on reaching.

Perhaps not today,
Tomorrow, or in this life.
But something will come.
